Lilydale chefs take the cake

LILYDALE International's chefs have won silver at a state-wide culinary showdown.
Head chef Jason Seach and sous chef Peter Hayde came second at the Clubs Victoria 2008 Chefs Table awards as well as winning the award for the best desserts course with their poached figs with vanilla panna cotta and honey tuiles.
The chefs also impressed judges with their entree of Western Australian yabby, celeriac, crab cake and seafood bisque and main course, duo of pork with lyonnaise potatoes, braised fennel and caramelised apples.
Functions manager Sharon Rice said the boys were "stoked" with their win and the silver medal was displayed in the Lilydale International bistro.
